Flight training is a step-by-step journey and each certificate builds on the last one to take you from your first flight to more advanced skills and career opportunities. At Flight Deck Aviation, that journey is supported by an experienced instructor team that includes Gold Seal CFIs and charter pilots. This provides students a higher level of insight and confidence from day one! Our training is based a Clinton Municipal Airport (CWI) in Clinton, Iowa--a short drive from the Quad Cities. We combine online grind lessons with in-person instruction that is closely aligned with each flight lesson, helping you to learn faster and retain more. This building block approach serves our clients well and produces safe, quality aviators!
Private Pilot Certificate

The Private Pilot Certificate is your first major step into aviation. This is where you learn the fundamentals of flying, including hour an aircraft works, how to safely take off and land, navigate, communicate with air traffic control and make sound decisions in the air. Our private pilot training is designed to take you from zero experience to confidently flying on your own

Once you earn your Private certificate, you can fly for personal travel, take friends and family along and experience the freedom of aviation!
Instrument Rating

After earning your Private Pilot Certificate, the Instrument Rating takes your skills to the next level. Pre-Brief
Each lesson begins from a structured pre-brief to ensure training efficiency. Very similar to military pilots, we'll discuss before the flight exactly what we're doing for the flight today. This prepares both student and instructor for the flight!

De-Brief
The de-brief goes well beyond a quick post flight recap, ensuring you understand what you did, why it matters and how to get better! The learning continues and helps you get ahead and be better prepared for the next flight!
